THE ROLE OF DIGITAL LEARNING TOOLS IN DEVELOPING INDEPENDENT RESEARCH SKILLS AMONG YOUNG RESEARCHERS

Abstract: This article examines the role of digital learning tools in developing independent research skills among young researchers. In the modern academic environment, students and early-career researchers increasingly rely on online platforms, digital libraries, academic search engines, citation managers, and artificial intelligence-based tools to search, organize, analyze, and present scientific information. The purpose of this article is to analyze how digital tools support independent learning, critical thinking, academic writing, and research productivity. The study uses a descriptive-analytical approach based on the review of educational practices and digital research workflows. The findings show that digital learning tools can significantly improve access to information, increase academic motivation, support self-directed learning, and help young researchers develop basic research competencies. However, the effective use of such tools requires digital literacy, ethical awareness, proper citation skills, and the ability to critically evaluate sources. The article concludes that digital tools should not replace traditional academic supervision, but they can serve as powerful support mechanisms for developing independent research culture among young scholars.References
